NSW records one new locally acquired COVID case as source of infection is under investigation

One new locally acquired coronavirus case has been reported in New South Wales.

The new case is a man from Western Sydney whose source of infection is under investigation.

NSW Health’s Dr Chatu Yapa says while the source was not immediately known, it’s likely he is linked to the Berala BWS cluster.

There were 14,547 test results processed in the 24 hours to 8pm Friday.

Meanwhile, the state government is weighing up the possibility of easing restrictions next week.
